Nashville Predators come from behind to defeat the Vancouver Canucks
In a game that was dubbed the “Desperation Bowl” by the media, the Nashville Predators came from behind to defeat the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
The Predators, who entered the game just one point out of last place in the NHL’s Central Division, fell behind 2-0 in the first period on goals by Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.
But the Predators stormed back in the second period, scoring three goals in a span of less than five minutes to take a 3-2 lead.
Steven Stamkos scores twice in the third period
Steven Stamkos gave the Predators a 4-3 lead early in the third period, and then added an empty-net goal late in the game to seal the victory.
The win was the Predators’ third in a row, and it moved them into a tie for seventh place in the Central Division.
The Canucks, meanwhile, fell to 2-5-1 in their last eight games and they are now in danger of missing the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.

Tyler Myers and Conor Garland also scored for the Canucks, while Spencer Martin made 26 saves in goal.
The Predators will host the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night
The Predators will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Edmonton Oilers at Bridgestone Arena.
The Canucks will return home to host the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.
