Winnipeg Police Investigate 30 Break-ins Involving Students

Over $60,000 Worth Of Personal Belongings Stolen

In the past month, 10 off-campus dwellings and five fraternities and sororities have been broken into, resulting in approximately $60,000 worth of personal belongings being stolen and varying degrees of property damage.

Police are urging students to be vigilant and take steps to protect their property, such as locking doors and windows, keeping valuables out of sight, and reporting any suspicious activity.

University of Manitoba Housing Working With Police On Investigation

The University of Manitoba’s Housing and Residence Life department has been working closely with the Winnipeg Police Service to investigate the break-ins and implement additional security measures on campus.

The university has increased patrols by campus security officers, installed additional lighting in key areas, and is working with students to raise awareness about crime prevention.
