The Vorarlberg elections are fast approaching
For those living in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, it’s that time again. Elections are being held on **March 16, 2023** to elect your local town and municipal governments.
Who can vote
All Austrian citizens who are at least 16 years old and have been registered in the community for at least three months are eligible to vote. This includes individuals who have dual citizenship with another country.
What is being voted on
The elections will determine who will lead the local governments for the next five years. This includes the mayor, as well as the members of the municipal council.
Why vote
Local elections are important because they give you a say in who makes decisions that affect your community. These decisions can range from local taxes to land use planning to education policies.
How to vote
Voting is easy. You can vote by mail or in person on Election Day. If you vote by mail, your ballot must be received by the local election office by 4 p.m. on Election Day.
