Volkswagen replaces its US boss: Kjell Gruner to succeed Pablo Di Si
Volkswagen has made a change to its top management in the United States. Kjell Gruner will take over as CEO of Volkswagen of America, replacing Pablo Di Si, who has led the company since 2015.
Gruner, 49, is a Volkswagen veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has held various leadership positions within the company, including head of sales and marketing for Volkswagen in South America and managing director of Volkswagen in Mexico.
Di Si, 59, is leaving Volkswagen to pursue other opportunities. He joined the company in 2014 and has overseen a period of significant growth for Volkswagen in the United States. Under his leadership, the company has increased its market share and launched several new vehicles, including the Atlas and Tiguan SUVs.
Gruner will face a number of challenges in his new role, including the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to electric vehicles. However, he is confident that Volkswagen has the products and the team to succeed in the United States.
"I am excited to lead Volkswagen of America during this important time," Gruner said. "We have a strong team and a great product lineup, and I am confident that we can continue to grow our business and succeed in the United States."
