Two Youths Arrested After Assault Near GLSS Tuesday

Two youths were arrested Tuesday after an assault near George Lindsey Smith Elementary.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Main Street. Witnesses reported seeing two young males arguing with an older man before the situation escalated into a physical altercation. The victim, a 52-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Responding officers located the two suspects, both juveniles, a short distance from the scene. They were taken into custody and charged with assault. Their names have not been released due to their age.
