Netherlands 3-0 Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Netherlands maintained their 100% record in UEFA Nations League Group 4 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in Rotterdam on Tuesday.
Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the Dutch in the seventh minute, with Steven Bergwijn doubling the lead just after the half-hour mark. Wout Weghorst added a third in the second half to seal the victory for Louis van Gaal's side.
The Netherlands have now won all four of their matches in Group 4, scoring 14 goals and conceding none. They have already secured top spot in the group and will progress to the Nations League finals next year.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, meanwhile, have lost all four of their matches in the group and are bottom of the standings.
The Netherlands were the dominant side from the start of the match and took the lead early on. Depay was played through on goal by Cody Gakpo and the Barcelona forward made no mistake, firing low into the bottom corner.
The Dutch doubled their lead in the 32nd minute. Bergwijn cut inside from the left flank and curled a shot into the far corner.
Bosnia and Herzegovina had a chance to reduce the deficit shortly after the break, but Smail Prevljak fired wide from a good position.
The Netherlands continued to dominate the game and got their third goal midway through the second half. Weghorst headed home a cross from Daley Blind to make it 3-0.
The Dutch had several chances to add to their lead in the closing stages, but they could not find a fourth goal.
Despite the defeat, Bosnia and Herzegovina can take some positives from the match. They competed well for long periods and had some good chances to score.
The Netherlands will now turn their attention to the World Cup in Qatar, where they will face Senegal, Ecuador and hosts Qatar in Group A.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will be hoping to bounce back from their disappointing Nations League campaign when they face Romania in a friendly match on Friday.
