What Happened?

On Tuesday, September 6, 2023, at approximately 10:30 am, the University of Manitoba (U of M) issued a safety alert regarding a man with a knife on campus. The alert was sent out via email and social media, and it instructed students and staff to stay indoors and avoid the area.

The alert also stated that the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) was on scene and searching for the suspect. The WPS later confirmed that they had received a report of a man with a knife on campus, and that they were investigating the incident.

What We Know So Far

At this time, there are no reports of any injuries or damage to property. The WPS is still searching for the suspect, and they have not yet released any information about his identity or description.
