Gun call prompts heavy police presence on Bayfield St. (update)

What happened?

Barrie police responded to a call about a man with a gun on Bayfield Street, just north of Cundles Road, around 9:30 a.m. Officers located a suspect and arrested him without incident. No injuries were reported.

What is the latest?

Police say the investigation is ongoing. They have not released any information about the suspect or the type of weapon involved.

What are they saying?

"We want to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we investigate this incident," Barrie police Const. Sarah Bamford said. "We are committed to keeping our community safe."
