Crash Closes Part of Highway 7/8 Near Stratford

What Happened?

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, a serious crash closed part of Highway 7/8 near Stratford, Ontario. The collision involved two transport trucks and a car, and resulted in multiple injuries.

According to OPP Constable Hugh Smith, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 7/8, just east of Perth Line 36.

Injuries and Road Closure

The crash resulted in serious injuries to the drivers of all three vehicles. The drivers were taken to hospital for treatment, but their conditions are not yet known.

The crash closed Highway 7/8 in both directions for several hours. The highway was reopened to traffic around 12:30 p.m.

Investigation Ongoing

The OPP is investigating the cause of the crash. No charges have been laid at this time.
