Baumgartner to represent incoming class of representatives
Congressman-elect Michael Baumgartner (R-Ga.) has been selected to serve as the freshman class representative for the 118th Congress.
Baumgartner, a former state representative, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2022. He will represent Georgia's 4th Congressional District.
Baumgartner's role as freshman class rep
As freshman class representative, Baumgartner will serve as a liaison between the incoming class of representatives and the House leadership.
He will also work to ensure that the freshman class has a voice in the decision-making process and that their concerns are heard.
Baumgartner said he is honored to serve as the freshman class representative.
"I look forward to working with my fellow freshmen to make sure that our voices are heard and that we have a positive impact on the House," he said.
Baumgartner is a member of the House Committee on Armed Services and the House Committee on Small Business.

Baumgartner is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the University of Georgia School of Law.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and deployed to Iraq in 2003.
Baumgartner is married and has two children.
