Barrie Police Service investigating after woman dies following shooting in city's south end

Summary

Barrie Police Service is investigating after a woman died following a shooting in the city's south end on Monday evening. Officers were called to the area of Bayfield Street and Heather Street around 8:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

The Barrie Police Service's Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
